MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of HaChayim HaYehudim Jewish Photo Library® is to contribute to the preservation of Jewish communities of the world by documenting them photographically for posterity. Each photograph is a document that records community life today while safeguarding memories for tomorrow.
HaChayim HaYehudim Jewish Photo Library® also aims to tie the religious and cultural threads that bind Jews of the world together by being as inclusive as possible of individual Jews and Jewish communities from anywhere on the planet by reserving judgement on "who is or is not a Jew" or "how Jewish one may or may not be." This aim, therefore, includes freedom of religious, cultural, political, and linguistic interpretation and expression as part and parcel of the Jewish experience.
HaChayim HaYehudim Jewish Photo Library® further aims to bring attention to emerging Jewish communities (such as numerous groups across sub-Saharan Africa) and to those in decline (such as ancient communities in northern Africa and India) and/or to other long-established Jewish communities for the purpose of uniting Jews of the world in a spirit of awareness and harmony within the Jewish world and beyond.
HaChayim HaYehudim Jewish Photo Library® carries out its stated mission by acting non-politically and cross-culturally.
